About

While in quarantine I was looking for ways to get my kids outside more, and with their electronics less.  We would go bike riding and skating, play kickball and catch, and go fishing and hiking. But after a few months it was harder and harder to get the kids excited to spend time outdoors.

Growing up in the Dominican Republic I  spent my childhood playing outside. I have wonderful memories playing street games with the neighborhood kids, especially La plaquita.

All three of my children play baseball so I figured that it would be easy enough for them to learn La plaquita. Using some woodworking tools to recreate the elements of the game, I took the kids to the park with my new set to show them how I spent my days as a child. They loved it as much as I did!

We play every day and neighbors always come out to ask about La plaquita. With so much interest, I decided to create a La plaquita set that would be fun for families wanting a fun outdoors game to play during quarantine and beyond.
